Las Vegas, Nevada It has now been almost one year since Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has defended his Light Heavyweight belt and his challenger, Forrest Griffin, has also been inactive for the same amount of time. Will ring rust play a role in this weekends 5 round fight? Rampage has recorded 6 straight victories coming into this fight with his last loss at the hands of Mauricio "Shogun" Rua from Brazil, a skilled Muay Thai fighter who, in his own last fight, was completely dismantled by this weekends challenger, Forrest Griffin. Both Jackson and Griffin have now finished their coaching stints on a nationally broadcast fight training show and look ready to compete. Griffins victory over Rua, the last man to beat Rampage has given him an unmistakable boost coming into this fight but Las Vegas Oddsmakers have made Jackson the heavy favorite. My pick Quentin "Rampage" Jackson by TKO Stoppage Other fights on the card: Patrick Cote vs Ricardo Almeida With a record of 12-4 including 6 wins in his last 7 fights, Patrick Cote is on a tear. Almeida, once known as a devastating submission artist who went on to retire from fighting to take on a full time job is going to have his work cut out for him this weekend. Until his February 2nd win over Rob Yundt, Almeida had not fought for 4 years. Difficult to pick against the hot streak here but I am going for the underdog here. My pick Ricard Almeida by Submission
Joe Stevenson vs Gleison Tibau Joe "Daddy" Stevenson is born to fight. His first professional bout was at 16 years old and it has been a non stop obsession of his for his entire adult life. These are the kind of people I don't pick against regardless of opponent. My pick Stevenson over Tibau The rest of the card and my picks in bold.
